Adult Study Circle: Islamic Morals and Manner

In this Adult Study Circle we will be reviewing Manẓūmat al-Ādāb al-Ṣughrā by Shams al-Dīn Ibn ʿAbd al-Qawī al-Mardāwī al-Ḥanbalī (d. 699 AH) is a foundational poem on Islamic adab (ethics and manners) that has long served as a gateway into Hanbali moral instruction. Though brief in form, this didactic poem captures essential principles of character and conduct rooted in the Qur’an, Sunnah, and Islamic legal tradition. Its clarity and balance made it a central text for memorization and commentary, and it was widely taught and explained across generations.

This program will connect the student to a rich legacy of character formation that complements their legal and spiritual development. By engaging with this work, students will begin to internalize the reality that true religiosity requires not only knowledge and devotion—but also refinement of conduct and sincerity in dealings.
