Got GAME?

Updated: Nov 26, 2019

Let me share a little secret with you.

While life is not a game, you definitley need a GAME plan to be successful.

If you haven't formulated a solid plan, you can use this as a strong starting point.

Build upon the 4-step plan below, and by the grace of the Divine, you will acheive your goals in this life and the next.

1. (G)ather the Tools

The Prophet Muhammad said,“Stick with what benefits you.”

Before you begin any task, assess the situation and identify the required tools for success. If you are unsure, ask someone for help. Our Creator has provided us with all we need to acheive our dreams.

"It is God who created the heavens and the earth and sent down rain from the sky and produced thereby some fruits as provision for you and subjected for you the ships to sail through the sea by His command and subjected for you the rivers.

And He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continuous in orbit, and subjected for you the night and the day. And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of God, you could not enumerate them..." [14:32-34]

You need to capitalize on the tools that the All-Mighty has put at your disposal. We have so much in our hands. We have been given intellect, ability, and willpower. We must exhaust those means!

2. (A)im High

The Prophet Muhammad said, “God loves the most lofty and honorable of things and despises that which is lowly and menial.”

Regardless if it’s related to work, family, faith, or school, the believer should strive to do their level best. Don't squander the resources you have been afforded by the All-Mighty by wasting them on meaningless pursuits, rather form lofty goals and push yourself to achieve them. Don't settle for average! Aim to be the best you can be.

3. (M)uster the Courage

The Prophet Muhammad said, “Put your trust in God and don’t give up.”

Sometimes we don’t try because we're afraid to fail. This is absolutely debilitating! If you have a lack of faith, doubting that God will see you through to the end, you've lost!

Adopt a positive opinion of God. He is Mighty and Majestic and capable of all things.

"Indeed, your Lord is God, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, another night chasing it rapidly; and He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is God, Lord of the worlds." [7:54]

If He is able to create the heavens and the earth, and all that is within them, He can certainly grant you success.

4. (E)xecute with Enthusiasm

The Prophet Muhammad said, “Aim for the bulls-eye and get close.”

Now that you have gathered the tools, set lofty goals, and mustered up the courage to acheive them, aim for the bulls-eye and release that arrow! All will be well regardless of the outcome.

What's important is the process. The outcome is a mere result.

If you do not hit the target “dead on”, you will at least get very close. And getting close to achieving lofty aspirations is leaps and bounds beyond those who do not aim high but are satisfied with mediocrity.

Now that you have a working GAME plan, sit down and chart your course to success. You can use this format for just about any of your endevours and if you make the effort and put your trust in the All-Mighty, success is just around the corner.
