Proposed Ramadan Program

Ramadan is a time of spiritual growth and multiplied reward.


To take advantage of what this month has to offer, it's best to be intentional and develop a plan.


To help you with that process, I have highlighted a basic starter plan below.


The goals of this plan include performing all prayers on time with their associated sunnah prayers, making more dua and dhikr, and reading the Qur'an at least once during the month. The plan also takes into account your need to socialize and rest.


As mentioned, this is a starting point and should be altered based on your schedule and additional goals.



Night

Before suhur, offer any tahajjud prayers.


Suhur Time

Prepare and eat suhur.

Socialize with family.

Conclude a few minutes before fajr prayer.

Prepare for Fajr.


Fajr

2 rakahs sunnah ratibah.

Dua between the adhan and iqamah.

Fajr prayer.

Post prayer dhikr & dua.

Read 1 juz of the Qur’an (Option 1).


15-20 mins After Sunrise

Duha prayer.

Morning remembrances and supplications.

Rest/nap if needed.

Work/school.


Zuhr

Prepare for Zuhr prayer.

2 + 2 rakahs sunnah prayer.

2 rakahs sunnah ratibah.

Dua between the adhan and iqamah.

Zuhr prayer.

Post prayer dhikr & dua.

2 rakahs sunnah ratibah.

2 + 2 rakahs sunnah prayer.


'Asr

Prepare for Ê¿Asr prayer.

2 + 2 rakahs sunnah prayer.

Dua between the adhan and iqamah.

Asr prayer.

Post prayer dhikr & dua.

Evening remembrances and supplications.

(No additional prayers performed until Maghrib!)

Read 1 juz of the Qur’an (option 2).

Rest/nap if needed.

Socialize with family.

Prepare for Maghrib.


Iftar & Maghrib

Break fast with family. Eat a light snack such as dates and water.

Maghrib prayer.

Post prayer dhikr.

2 rakahs sunnah ratibah.

2 + 2 rakahs sunnah prayer.

Eat dinner with family and socialize.

Perform optional prayers in sets of 2 until Isha. These are considered night prayers.

Prepare for Isha prayer.

Head to the masjid early.


Isha

Dua between the adhan and iqamah.

Isha prayer.

Post prayer dhikr & dua.

2 rakahs sunnah ratibah.

2 + 2 rakahs sunnah prayer.

Pray Tarawih with the Imam until compete.

Return home.

Read 1 juz of the Qur’an (option 3).

Light snack if needed.

Sleep.
